The Aftermath!

Thanks to a great suggestion by Superstar, I am showing you a picture my car, a 2005 Nissan Altima (named Smokey) after it was hit by the notorious Chevelle. The suggestion was to have you all estimate the cost to fix her. Bob Barker would be proud!
The second picture shows the back bumper being held in place by duct tape (it was hanging off the car originally).

  5. You told me the possible range over the phone Sunday night, but I don't think you told me the official estimate.

    So I'm going for $2100.

  7. AHHH not as bad as I first thought. Now I am going to do new parts, then a 2nd w/ used.
    Bumper=$2000, paint, re-attach;
    Backside quarter panel, $1000, paint, re-attach;
    Back side door $1200, glass remove and re-install $300, paint and put back together "smokey" back together for $4500-5K. If they are able to re-use your parts I will take off some...(Not including rental car at $30/per day for about a 10 day job=14days of rental...)
    That is a 7-10 day job with parts/labor/paint...I am keeping my guess at $4500-$5K.

    Nice Pics BTW...Bob Barker is SO proud!

  8. I would say superstar is the closest.

    New Bumper - 1100
    New Quarter Panel - 850
    New Door - 1000
    Paint/labor - 2000

    All told - at least 4950.

  10. my first guess would be $666.00 ...but that would be too much of a coincidence... so i'll go with $2345.67 just to prove i'm numerically challenged.

  11. I'm going for the big 5,000 if the repair man gets it from your insurance company.

  12. I saw free to you since it was the girls' fault. Glad you're OK. By God, don't go to his shop -- sounds like a great way to not have it fixed right.

    Can't resist, though: now you have 2 cars with ass dents.
