Remeber Teddy Ruxpin? He was a teddy bear, but not just any teddybear. Ruxpin was a "mechanical" talking teddy bear. He would read stories with the help of a tape recorder built into his back. The bear would move his mouth and eyes as he "read" the story.
Teddy Ruxpin was a big seller in the 1980's, and I believe Ruxpin even had his own cartoon show.

He DID have his own cartoon show. My cousin had a Teddy Ruxpin and I was very jealous. He was awesome.
