My goodness, has the sports scene in Philly done a 360 in the last 6 months. I don't have to bring up all of the great stuff that has happened ... but I want to.
* The loveable losers, the losingest franchise in the history of professional sports, the Philadelphia Phillies somehow broke through and won the World Series, after almost not making the playoffs (thanks Mets!).
* The team that seems to make a habit of coming up short (much like an inept porn star), inexplicably made the playoffs as a 6th seed (thanks to the Raiders doing the inconceivable and beating Tampa Bay in Tampa), and has even more inexplicably gone on a playoff run, knocking off the defending Super Bowl champion Giants this past week, and now play an Arizona Cardinals team they embarrassed 5 weeks ago for the right to play in the Super Bowl.
* The Philadelphia Flyers, after making a Herculean run to the Eastern Conference finals last season, have picked up right where they left off, and are now leading the Atlantic division, and playing some inspiring hockey, even with injuries to many key players.
* Heck, even the Sixers have won 4 games in a row ... but, I'm not holding my breath.
Still, not too shabby. For once, I don't have anything to complain about with Philly sports ... something doesn't feel right.

With all of the green lights around the city, on a hazy night it looks like we're trapped in a big cloud of bad breath. ... babspeapod
Andy Reid yelling, "World F***ing Champions!" might be the height of comedy.
You can't just sit back and watch the games with joy now?
At least you don't have to suffer supporting Oldham Athletic FC....
mind you they've made me immune from depression
And me, originally from Quees, has to come here to be sad?!
All I can say is, "Enjoy it while it lasts !"
