Fast Food Corner

Do any of you remember Burger King's "Yumbo" sandwich from the 1980's? It was basically a hot ham and cheese on a sesame seed burger bun. I hear the cheese was really kind of like the hot cheese you put on nachos. Now, since I can't stand the taste of ham, I never touched this sandwich - so I can't really review it. I wanted to see if (a) any of you ever tried it, and (b) why Burger King chose the name "Yumbo." Isn't there a better name they could've used?

Honestly don't remember that one. I dislike ham as well, so that may be why.

I definitley don't remember this sandwich, I wish they would bring it back, and the name is funny...."Can I get a Large Diet, fries and a Yumbo, please?"

Wow...never. ever. heard of it.
And I totally agree with Schue!

Do you think it was exclusive to where you lived?

The ad says why nobody heard of it. No hay "desayuno" en mi casa en los 1980s.

It sounds like a ham and cheese hot pocket.

I remember these! We had them in 79/80 in Fairfield, Alabama! They were delicious! Served in styrofoam containers!
