Fast Food Corner

When I was a freshman at Mont Alto, one of my favorite places to go to was the Chambersburg Mall ... sure, there really wasn't much else to do in Mont Alto, with the exception of drinking and watching 25 Alive (the only station you could get without cable). So, anytime a roomate or friend was headed to the mall, I was sure to tag along.

Really, the only places I liked to go in the mall were Camelot Records and Arbys. Camelot had a surprisingly good selection of $1.99 cds ... and Arby's ... well, Arby's was Arby's. I tended to order the same thing everytime at Arby's ... two roast beef sandwiches, curly fries, and a soda. No, Arby's doesn't have the greatest roast beef sandwiches, but they aren't bad ... combine that with some Horsey Sauce and curly fries, and it's not too shabby.

Arby's has done pretty well being the "fringe" fast food chain ... they now offer jalepeno poppers and mozarella sticks (neither of which are great, but passable), as well as deli sandwiches (which I've never tried) ... but, they are known for their roast beef ... whether it's the cheddar melt, the regular roast beef, or the Giant roast beef.

We have a very old Arby's in our area ... In fact, it still has the "classic" Arby's look, complete with the huge sign, lack of a drive through, and painfully slow service. Still, I enjoy going there for some reason.

Arby's got the idea for their roast beef sandwiches from Boston. I'm convinced of that.

Kelly's Roast Beef in Revere, MA... best in the world!

Arby's toasted subs are very good. And their spicy three-pepper sauce is delicious with the curly fries... I was thinking of filling up my drink cup with the stuff and smuggling it home!!!

I use to steal the Arby's BBQ sauce squirt bottles back when I was in High School. It didn't take them long to replace them with the little sauce packets, lol.

My favorite are the market fresh sandwhiches... They are not even close to semi-healthy, but soooo good.

Los, Arby's is the greatest. Don't downplay it.
