Weekly Homework Assignment.

This week's homework assignment I chose from Mama Kat was to talk about a memorable blind date. Since most of my friends either were embarrased with me, or couldn't get a date themselves, I didn't get to experience many blind dates, sadly.

The one blind date I did get to experience resulted in my marriage ... that's right, my relationship with Schue began as a blind date. Truth be told, we lived in neighboring towns for most of our lives, but never officially met ... actually, we found out that we had a mutual friend and were actually at the same New Years Eve party years before we "met." That's probably a story for another blog.

A college friend of mine (and one of my best friends) moved near me, and began dating someone ... as luck would have it, she had a roommate who was single. After a few months of dating, my college roommate decided it was time to set me up on a date with his girlfriend's roommate.

We met at a bar in Philly (Bar Noir) ... Normally, I'm not at a loss for words, but because Schue was absolutely beautiful, I had trouble formulating anything smart, funny, or witty ... instead, I began talking about how I wished John McCain would've beaten out Bush for the Republican nomination ... yep, she must've been overwhelmed by this (and I believe you all probably are too, since I mentioned this in a recent blog).

Anyway, the rest of the night went reasonably well - we ended up going to The North Star, another bar in Philly that actually hosts decent live bands. Schue was hestitant about seeing me again (probably thinking back to the McCain conversation), and it took a couple of weeks to see her again, but I think the drugs finally kicked in.

Two questions: How many consecutive weeks can you copy-and-paste the story of your first date? And how often can you imply sbe's on drugs before she strangles you?

I can't help but wonder what her side of the story is! I just love that you two met on a blind date!
