Song of the Week

There have been a couple of notable "theatrical" bands in the history of rock - Queen and The Talking Heads come to mind ... there's another more recent band that has taken the torch from these legendary art-rock bands - The Darkness.

This band has been around for longer than most people realize - dating back to 1991 ... sure, the vast majority of people didn't hear about this band until probably 2003 with the release of the "Permission to Land" cd - one that enabled them to play huge rock shows throughout the world, even getting the opportunity to tour with the legendary Metallica.

Their first major hit, "I Believe in a Thing Called Love," is just a great sing-along song ... well at least part of the chorus is ... the lead singer sings about as fast as that guy who did the Micro Machines commercials talked (look it up). This song is filled with powerful guitar riffs, a candy-metal sound, and a lead singer loves to sing falsetto ... it's a song you probably won't want to openly admit to liking (kind of like that "Hey-Ya" Outkast song), but you probably secretly like.
